Replicate traditional patterned floor tiles
Between 1850 and 1950 decorative patterned floors were fashionable in Europe and throughout the colonies of the New World.
Two different types of tiles were manufactured to create the colorful, distinctive flooring style:
- Cement tiles made from pigmented cement mix.
- Encaustic “Victorian” tiles, made from pigmented clay fired in an oven.
The techniques were very different, but designs and appearance of the tiles were similar.

Cement tiles are identically reproduced as we use the same techniques, row materials and pigments as in the past. Our craftsmen have a perfect mastery of last century processes and use original moulds and tools.

Encaustic clay tiles or “Victorian Tiles" originated in Northern Europe are generally smaller and come in black, grey, and bluish tones. The original manufacture method has disappeared but we reproduce them using the cement tiles process.
